FGP Peer Mentor Program
The FGP Peer Mentor Program matches first generation first-year students with upper level first generation mentors to help students transition and adjust to life at MIT, and learn from their mentors’ experience of navigating MIT as a FGLI student.
Mentor-mentee pairs are expected to maintain weekly communication via text, phone calls, letters, etc., and are required to attend one (1) FGP event together per semester.
Who should apply?
- First generation first year students who would like to be matched with an upper-class MIT student
- First generation sophomores, juniors, and seniors who think an incoming student could benefit from their experience and support – see the Peer Mentor Application Google form.
