Major Exploration Departmental Events


Below is a schedule of departmental major exploration events being held in November and early December.  Additional events and updates will be posted as information is received from departments.

  • November 4Course 21L:  Afternoon Tea, 4:15-5:45pm, Room 14N-417

  • November 8Course 14: Major Information, 2-3pm, Room E52-506
  • November 8Course 12: EAPS Active Talk Series, 4:30-5pm, Room 54-915. EAPS Active Talk Series (EATS) is a space where members of our community share their science, prepare for conferences, practice communication skills, and engage in multidisciplinary conversations. EATS meets weekly on Fridays, at 4:30p, with two 15 minutes talks (12 minutes lecture + 3 minutes questions) by undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, research scientists and professors.
  • November 13: Course 6: First Year Open House, 6:30-8pm in the Grier Room (34-401). The first half is a presentation portion, where representatives from MIT IEEE/ACM, its subcommittees, and the Course 6 UGO will each introduce their organizations, discuss what they can do for the first year students, talk about resources they provide, etc. The second half will be a sort of "networking"/breakout Q&A session, where students can talk to "mentors" --- EECS upperclassmen, faculty, professors, etc. who can answer questions and give advice for a variety of topics relating to Course 6.
