Have you ever wanted to learn more about
- Solutions for tackling the climate crisis?
- Metro Boston’s organizations, projects, and people involved in the energy transition?
- MIT faculty, courses, and student groups related to energy and climate?
Then come join the Discover the Energy Transition FPOP!
The Discover the Energy Transition FPOP is sponsored by the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), whose mission is to develop solutions to combat climate change and expand energy access. MITEI fosters a strong student energy community through programs and opportunities, such as the Energy Studies Minor, energy-specific UROPs, online energy courses, and alternative energy field trips, as well as by supporting student energy and climate groups.
Participating in DtET FPOP will introduce you to some of the ways you can study energy and climate solutions here at MIT, and to meet some of the passionate people pursuing relevant research in this field. Possible activities include:
- Touring the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center and MIT’s nuclear fission reactor
- Visiting a sustainable farm outside the city
- Biking and sailing along the Charles River
