First Gen & Low Income Program

The First Generation and/or Low Income Program (FLI) is committed to building a sense of community among first generation and low-income MIT students, faculty, alumni, and staff, while raising awareness of their unique experiences.

Through this network, we enhance the academic success, professional growth, and personal development of first generation and/or low-income students at MIT.

Check us out on Instagram! FLI@MIT. You can  learn more about FLI in the recent MIT News story about our programming.

What we offer:

  • Networking with other FLI students, faculty, and alumni
  • Community engagement including movie nights, apple picking, and monthly community gatherings
  • Professional development opportunities, including with graduate students and alums
  • Academic Advising
  • Workshops on diving deeper into the identity

We hope you explore this site to learn more about what it’s like to be FLI at MIT.
