Orientation Schedule

The detailed 2026 Orientation Schedule will be available here by August 1, 2026.

NOTE: If you have any questions regarding Orientation, email firstyear@mit.edu.

Checking In

Upon arrival to campus on your assigned day, you should do the following:

Step 1: Proceed directly to your assigned residence hall and check in with the housing staff.

Step 2: Proceed to the Orientation Check In. Check In will be located in Building 3, room 108 (3-108, the DEN). When you check in, you will be given your MIT ID. Do not print your MIT ID at a self-service kiosk before receiving your ID at check-in, as this will void the ID given to you at check-in.

Please note that if you are arriving via plane, there is no MIT shuttle service to campus from the airport.  Most students travel to campus from the airport via taxi, RideShare service (Lyft or Uber), or MBTA. You can find more information about traveling to campus at this link.

Baggage Storage

If you need to have your baggage or belongings sent to Cambridge prior to your arrival on campus, you must make arrangements with a separate company. You cannot ship directly to MIT until you have moved into your permanent housing assignment.
