Computing Information for New Students

New students soon discover MIT’s rich array of information technology resources.

As members of the MIT community, you can take advantage of educational technology, access free software, communicate virtually with each other, and collaborate on problems and ideas in creative ways.

See the tips and computing resources on the Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) web site, including creating and using your MIT Kerberos ID. We also encourage you to email: servicedesk@mit.edu or call 617-253-1101 with any questions you may have. Be sure to visit the IS&T tables at events during Orientation and at other times during the year.

See Getting Started with IT for students on the IS&T site for details on installing web certificates, protecting devices and data, access your MIT email, calendar and more.
