Kerberos ID, Web Certificates, Duo Authentication

You will receive an email from accounts@mit.edu to complete your account registration and establish your MIT Kerberos identity.

You will use your MIT Kerberos identity for email, to apply for housing and access many services at MIT.

Please note: after you successfully complete your account registration and establish your MIT Kerberos identity, you will be able to access your MIT email account immediately, but it can take up to 3 days for you to successfully login to certain MIT websites. We recommend completing your account registration and establishing your MIT Kerberos identity as soon as possible.

If you came to Campus Preview Weekend in April, you already did this and do not need to repeat this step.

You must also register for MIT Duo two-factor authentication for Touchstone as two-factor authentication is also required for access to most MIT systems.  Details and configuration information, can be found on the IS&T knowledge base.

If you have any questions or need assistance, contact the service desk at 617-253-1101 or at servicedesk@mit.edu
