Elizabeth Young

Associate Dean & Director, First Year Advising & Programming

Elizabeth began working at MIT in 1997. She has spent her career at MIT focused on the first year experience and welcoming new students to campus. Elizabeth’s goal each year is to motivate her staff to create new programs and opportunities for new students to interact with faculty and staff. A mother to three, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, particularly when it comes to playing board games or running around outside. When not hanging with the family or watching movies, you will find Elizabeth reading anything she can get her hands on; though she does enjoy satire and autobiographies most of all. On the rare chance that the stars align just right, you can find Elizabeth at the beach as she is a sun warrior at heart.
